Enrolling With Blue Cross
When you turn 65, you will be eligible to sign up for Medicare and a Medicare Advantage plan. You have the option of signing up three months before you turn 65 and within the three months after your birthday as well. As long as you sign up during this time period, any preexisting condition you may have will be covered. If you wait beyond this time frame, you may find you will be paying more for your premiums and you may be denied because of your preexisting condition. Your Advantage plan will be affected by this added cost. If you find you have missed applying for Medicare and a Medicare Advantage plan, you will have the option of signing up for insurance during the enrollment period from October 15th to December 7th every year. When approved for the insurance you will be covered on the first of the next year.
